Fabrice Wattez - Restaurateur and Creative Force behind Origin
Fabrice holds a degree in Economics and a Masters in Physical education, he worked for many years in France's health and fashion industry. He has held positions as a sport instructor in the army, Phys-Ed teacher at college and private trainer. Fabrice was well known in the fashion industry as one of Paris's top models and as such had the opportunity to travel the world through is work. In 2002, he visited Canton in China to work with a local doctor and learn about traditional Chinese Medicine. His China travels later took him to Shanghai where he won the international final of the Manhunt Model competition organised by Elite. He further established ties in Shanghai after being selected as a national spokesman of Channel Young in 2003. As Fabrice's trips and time in Shanghai increased, he finally decided to establish himself in Shanghai.
Fabrice looks to live life to its fullest, he strives for health, fitness, enjoyment and balance in his life Amongst the 24/7, high-intensity backdrop of China's fastest pace city, maintaining these goals can be hard to achieve. Origin was created out of this desire to provide a calming space to re-invigorate oneself. Fabrice applied his educational background, professional and life experiences to produce the Origin concept. The cuisine was collaboration between his own passion for food (being of French/Italian decent), his research of balance, and improvement of health, and master Chef Patrick Hansen knowledge. The harmonious interior space was a culmination of his eye for Nature and aesthetics and creative Designer Calvin Wang (Ipont group).

Patrick Hansen - Cuisine Creator
Patrick was born and raised in Mid-Western United States, to a family that valued food in a sea of food-for-fuel-ers. He traveled to Mexico at the ripe old age of 13 as an exchange student, where his love of food awoke. After a brief stint in University as Art student, Patrick decided that cooking was where he belonged and so attended the Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York. Patrick started travelling to develop his culinary (Turkey, China, Vietnam, Laos.) In China, he worked in Jean Georges Shanghai before he moved to Finestre Shanghai for a year and a half as their Sous Chef. Patrick has been inspired by the Origin concept and worked for a full year to plan the dishes and seasonal recipes from the around the world selected for their taste and nutrients. Regularly travelling back and forth, he is currently continuing his training in New York planning his next culinary travel. He strongly believes in bringing high quality, honest, and humble food to the table with a twinkling of various ethnic personas. A young and talented person, Patrick approaches food with passion and restaurant reviews may hear again about his work in the future.

Todd Anthony Tyler - Photographer and Art Contributor at Origin
Todd is an internationally renowned photographer from Canada who provides the art direction at Origin. Todd sees Origin as a blank canvas for him to display unique pieces of art from his favourite artists in Shanghai and around the world, as well of some of his own works. In this capacity, Todd regularly organises art exhibitions in Origin's first and second floors. In addition to art, Todd often entertains personalities from the fashion industry as well as organising boutique events.

Martin Breuvart - Wellness, Health, and Fitness Counsel
Martin is an outdoor sports fanatic and accomplished cyclist who has performed incredible feats of discipline and endurance, including cycling the Himalayan summit. Keeping in top physical shape requires a holistic approach to health and fitness and Martin's influence at Origin is apparent when one peruses the menu. Martin is also an important link between Origin and Shanghai 's sporting community and he often arranges get-togethers and events throughout the year.

Calvin Wang - Interior Designer
Calvin Wang, an experienced designer, was tasked with the job of creating a balanced and serene interior. During the creative process, Calvin describes his work as providing "emotional color" in the space. The Origin philosophy was transformed into physical manifestation using a combination of locally sourced natural elements such as raw wood, stone and tiles. The addition of indoor plants placed against these elements, merge to create a harmonious, relaxed atmosphere. Origin is a place to unwind and re-energize. |

Veronique Cassou Wattez – Creative Designer
 Veronique is a French creative designer that moved to Italy to work with cultural projects specialized on archeology animation and pieces reconstitution. Veronique was instrumental in creating the initial Origin visual identity and logo. |

Marianne Kaulima - Graphic Designer
 Marianne comes from Niue Island, a small atoll in the middle of the South Pacific and grew up barefoot swinging in the trees of Aoetearoa (land of the long white cloud), New Zealand. Inspired by these very natural surroundings and the love of people and places, Marianne's graphic design profession has managed to balance the world of art, people, culture, spirituality and business together. Origin embraces these qualities from its beginnings and the unfolding of its brand development. Her background includes publishing, advertising, integrated marketing and events working with top agencies and media sectors. In awareness to the environment and humanitarian areas her charity work include Second Chance Animal Aid www.scaashanghai.org , Roots & Shoots Shanghai - the Jane Goodall Institution and Shanghai Charity Foundation. |
